Questions
What people ask before booking
Do I need a referral?
In Vermont you can start without a referral. Your plan may still ask for one. Call us with your plan card and we will check before you book.
Does my plan cover this, and do you take Medicare?
We bill many kinds of plans for evaluations and treatment visits, including most commercial plans, Medicare, Medicaid, workers' compensation and auto injury coverage. Your plan decides what it pays. We check your benefits and call you before your first visit.
What if I pay myself?
We give you a written estimate before your visit, and you pay on the day. If your plan may reimburse you, we give you a detailed receipt to send in. Your plan decides whether it pays.
How long is a visit, and who treats me?
A first visit is about an hour with a physical therapist. Later visits can be shorter. A physical therapist sees you at every visit.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on what we find, how long it has been going on, what you want to get back to and how the first weeks go. We tell you what we expect after your first visit and review it with you as we go.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear what you move in. Bring the shoes and gear that are part of your question, and your bike if you booked a fit or a screen. Bring your plan card and a photo ID.
Will it hurt?
We work within what you can tolerate. Some movements and exercises can be uncomfortable. Tell us, and we change what we are doing.
Do you offer video visits?
Some follow-up visits can be by video if you are in Vermont, where our therapists are licensed. We tell you which visits suit video and which need you in the room.
Do you treat work or auto injuries?
Yes. If you were hurt in a crash or at work, get emergency care first. Tell us who your adjuster is. Your state decides who may direct your care. We explain how your bills are handled before you start.
What is a movement screen?
A shorter visit where a physical therapist watches how you move, and how you sit on your bike if you ride. You leave with a written list. It is not treatment and not an evaluation.
