Skiers and snowboarders
Winter sports
Physical therapy for skiers, snowboarders and ski tourers who want a plan for the weeks before snow, or for coming back to it.

Is this for you?
This care is for you if
Your legs give out before the day does
We test strength, balance and control, and plan the work behind them.
You are coming back to snow after time off
Time off for an injury or surgery needs a plan your doctor or surgeon can read.
You tour or ride lifts all day
We look at how your hips, back and shoulders handle the hours and the climbs.
You want a plan for the weeks before opening day
Work backward from the date you want to be on snow.
A visit
What a visit looks like
A first visit is about an hour with a physical therapist.
- 01
Step 1: Tell us about your winter
Where you ski, how often and what you want to do more of.
- 02
Step 2: Test how you move under load
Single-leg strength, hip and trunk control, balance and landing.
- 03
Step 3: Look at what changed
If you are back from an injury, we ask what your surgeon or doctor has cleared.
- 04
Step 4: Leave with a plan
A few exercises, a schedule and what we will check next time.
What we do
How we work with you
Strength and landing tests
How you balance, squat, step and land, compared side to side.
A fall-to-first-chair plan
Exercises and a schedule that work backward from the date you want to be on snow.
Hands-on care
Manual therapy to ease stiffness so you can train.
Good to know
What decides how many visits
It depends on what we find, how long it has been going on, how much time you have before snow and how the first weeks go. We tell you what we expect after your first visit and review it with you as we go.
Who treats you
A physical therapist at every visit. Each of our therapists holds a Vermont license, and the lines are on the team page and in the footer.
Meet the teamHow it is paid for
We bill many kinds of plans for evaluation and treatment visits, and you can pay yourself. The fees page explains how.
How fees workWhen to see a doctor first or call 911
See a doctor first if pain started after a crash or a fall, if an arm or leg is numb or weak, or if pain wakes you at night. If you are recovering from surgery, follow your surgeon's instructions first. Call 911 for chest pain, trouble breathing, or a head injury with confusion or a loss of consciousness.
Questions
A few questions about this care
Can you see me after a ski injury or surgery?
Yes, once your surgeon or doctor says you can start. We follow their instructions and explain what we are doing at each stage.
Will you tell me when I can ski again?
We cannot give a date. We tell you what we test, what we look for and what decides when you are ready, and we revisit it as you progress.
Should I bring my gear?
Bring the layers and shoes you move in. If boots or bindings matter to your question, bring those too.
Planning your winter?
Tell us the date you want to be on snow and we will plan backward from it.
